TroTro Guide is free because people give it their idea, their time, and their support. This is the wall: the founders first, then everyone helping keep the map fresh and the app free.
One taxi ride too many
In the Central Region, Grace Takyi was overcharged by a taxi driver one time too many. She wished for something simple: an app you could open anywhere in Ghana to see the real lorry fare and the directions, so no driver could ever deceive you again.
In 2024 she shared that idea with Ebenezer Eshun, who at the time had no knowledge of programming. It stuck. He trained as a fullstack web developer at OpenLabs, and in 2026 he built TroTro Guide from Grace’s idea.
Grace brought the vision; the community keeps it alive. That’s why the wall starts with her.
