These terms cover your use of TroTro Guide — the website and web app. By using TroTro Guide, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. What TroTro Guide is
TroTro Guide is a free, community project that gives step-by-step trotro directions for Greater Accra and a general safety guide for riding a trotro. It’s an information tool — it doesn’t operate vehicles, sell tickets, or take fares.
2. The information is “beta” — use your judgment
Trotro routes, stops, and the mate’s calls are community-sourced and can change without notice. We work hard to keep them accurate, but we can’t guarantee that any route, stop, timing, or fare is correct or current. Always use your own judgment, confirm with the mate or driver when unsure, and don’t rely on the app as your only source for a critical journey.
3. Safety
The safety guide is general information, not professional or legal advice. You are responsible for your own safety and belongings while travelling. TroTro Guide is not liable for any loss, injury, missed trip, or other harm arising from your use of the service or from riding a trotro.
4. Acceptable use
- Use TroTro Guide for personal, non-commercial travel.
- Don’t attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or interfere with the service or its data.
- Don’t submit false, abusive, or unlawful content through the report forms.
5. Donations
Donations are voluntary contributions that help keep TroTro Guide free — they are not a purchase of any product or service, and they are non-refundable except where required by law. Payments are handled by Paystack under their own terms.
6. Intellectual property
The beta map and route data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL. The TroTro Guide name, logo, design, and original content belong to TroTro Guide and may not be copied or used to imply endorsement without permission.
7. Third-party links and services
TroTro Guide links to and relies on third-party services (such as the payment provider and mapping data). We’re not responsible for the content, policies, or availability of those third parties.
8. Service “as is”
TroTro Guide is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we may change or discontinue features at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TroTro Guide and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do, and continued use of TroTro Guide means you accept the current terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
